Spashram RiverMountain Retreat’s Silver Sands on the Ganga! "Your ideal getaway!"
At Spashram, we have blended completely with nature and our surroundings, using traditional material wherever possible, and giving way to nature first.
This is a unique construction built in stone, timber and lime mortar. Using recycled and drift wood, hewn stone and limestone, this building is built into the hill and juxtaposed against a rock outcrop which is dominated by a native tree.
The building and its construction has been adapted to the topography which is as mentioned, rugged mountain escarpment.
The Longhouse is a linear building with commodious space and can sleep a couple with a small child on the very large bed, or a couple with young children, the latter bunking on the floor.
However there is currently one toilet bath only, along with a linen and store room which has a wash basin (hot and cold water), and a bath tub for summer baths. This room is outfitted with basic amenities viz a Thermos, hair dryer .
The Longhouse is equipped with a small library, and binoculars for bird watchers. A large verandah with brass railings and outfitted with chairs, and a telescope, allows views of the hill ranges opposite and Ganges river below.

This is so named because of the unique corner position is commands over a rocky bluff overlooking the river and in close proximity to the water and beach. A flight of long stairs made of rough hewn stone descends past the small lawn below the Longhouse, towards the beach, sit out areas before swinging right past mango orchard and bamboo and mixed forest to the Cliff Hanger Cottage. Sleeping a couple (with a young child) this compact bungalow has easy access to the beach, dining tent and sit out areas.

We put up tents which are either small dome pup tents with sleeping bags or large tents in which one can stand and which have two beds.
Both are supported by external dry bio toilets.

For those who need a no frills feel of the great outdoors, a simple box tent, with an attached dry toilet, and a bath tent are available. Needless to say it has a comfortable bed, carpeting, lamp lighting and the closest access to the beach.

Covid-19 Hygiene Protocols being Implemented at Spashram RiverMountain Retreat
* All handles and similar fittings eg. faucets, shower handles and toilet seats will have been sanitized prior to your entry with a sanitizing solution. The solution used is from a reputed manufacturer Vivid India whose products we use as they are non toxic, including insect and termite repellant solutions.
* Bedside tables and rests and even the book collection is sprayed with disinfectant as are mattresses.
* Staff use gloves to open and lay bed linen or towel linen.
* Surfaces and items such as electric kettle, torch, hair dryer and electric iron when provided are similarly treated.
* Indoor and outdoor games for recreation, mobile Wi-Fi dongles are NOT TREATED and you are expected to observe your own good sense and public knowledge on washing hands after using extraneous items.
* When your room is cleaned only one staff member attired in a basic pre sanitized suit will enter your dwelling.
* Your bags will not be stowed in your room on arrival but kept at the door and you may simply place inside as there is no real distance inside .
* While it is our endeavor that staff that brings down your luggage from car/road to cottage will don gloves, in the event of oversight, please ask for sanitizing liquid to disinfect your baggage handles before you place into room.
* Dining tables will be supplied with sanitizer and tissue boxes.
* Kitchen and dining surfaces are similarly treated as aforesaid and vegetables and thin skinned fruit washed in potassium permanganate as are dishes.
* Dishes are drip dried and tissue wiped.
* Staff are masked.

WIFI, ELECTRICITY, GADGETS AND LIGHTING
Three phase electricity with inverter backup is available along with emergency solar lighting. Kerosene and candle lighting for ambience is also provided at times in certain areas.
Besides Wi-Fi dongles which are provided, some public Wi-Fi hot spots are available.
We do not have televisions nor air conditioners.
We do have fireplaces of stone or cast iron, and room heaters.
